Built in 1962, the Nehru Stadium hosted its first international match only in 1983 during the West Indies tour of India. Since then, this premier venue has hosted only a few more ODI's.

Of the nine ODI's played here, India has featured in six with a 3 - 3 win loss record. The venue has also witnessed some inspired individual performances. South African seamer Richard Snell took four for 12 to star in his team's 78-run victory over Sri Lanka in the Hero Cup match in 1993.

The highest innings total record in an ODI remains with India. India made a massive 336 (for six) against Zimbabwe in March 2002 and won the match by a huge 101 runs.

Interestingly, the lowest innings total record is also held by India, when they were bowled out by West Indies in December 1987 for just 135. Sri Lanka, with an innings total of 136 against South Africa in November 1993, is at second place.

Dinesh Mongia, with an unbeaten 159, remains the highest individual ODI scorer at the stadium.
