Neiphiu Rio sworn in as Nagaland Chief Minister

Governor Shymal Dutta administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland leader and his Cabinet.

Neiphiu Rio, leader of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) was sworn in as Nagaland Chief Minister here on Thursday.

Governor Shymal Dutta administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rio and 22 cabinet ministers and six ministers of state of the jumbo-sized ministry at a simple ceremony held at the Raj Bhawan.

DAN, a conglomerate of five regional and non-Congress political parties, has 38 MLAs in the 60-member Nagaland Assembly.

Among those present in the swearing-in ceremony were former chief ministers, members of the DAN constituents and top government, police and Army officials.
