New GM of NER takes charge

NEWLY APPOINTED general manger of North Eastern Railway Sukhbir Singh took charge of his office on Monday. He was posted as GM Chitranjan Locomotive Works. Earlier GM NER SK Vij was transferred as GM EC Railway Hajipur.

Born on July, 1949 Sukhbir completed his bachelor degree in electronic engineering from Roorkee University with Gold Medal in 1971. Thereafter he joined India Railways in 1972. He successfully discharged the duties of divisional manger of NC Railway Allahabad, chief electrical engineer of Western Railway, and Mumbai.

Singh attended various training programme and strategic management courses, training and study in Germany and Switzerland. He attended Australian major Industries and Queen’s Land Railway as a part of team to study. He was awarded Railway Minister’s Medal in 1980.

Singh has keen interest in literary and sports activities. He has wide experience of railway manager and administration.
