He claimed that the completion of Dharmshala overbridge was the result of joint efforts of him (Shukla) and BJP MP Yogi Adityanath.
Talking to mediapersons, Shukla said MLA RMD Agrawal had miserably failed in granting any development projects for the city. He said that the development projects inaugurated by Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav were started by the BJP government in 1991 when he was a Cabinet minister in Kalyan Singh government.
It is to be noted that the CM had appreciated Dr Agrawal as a true people’s representative at a public meeting at Narmal School ground. This widened the gap between BJP MP Adityanath and Dr Agrawal, who was a close associate of Adityanath.
Shukla, an arch rival of Adityanath, was defeated by Dr Agrawal in the Assembly election on the support of Adityanath. He left no stone unturned to make a ground for himself in the present scenario of souring relationship between Adityanath and Agrawal.
Shukla said the BJP government had allocated Rs 5 crore for Gorakhpur Industrial Development and had made a constructive atmosphere of industrial growth for this region. He further said that the second bridge over Rapti river and the construction of 400 KVA power substation at Motiram Adda was also started during the BJP regime.
