He explained that the customer just needs to buy an appliance of Rs 7,000 or more and win free to and fro air ticket with a holiday package to exciting tourist destinations.
Mathew highlighted that the customer would have to pay the airport and fuel charges at the most. The offer would be valid from June 2006 to July 2006. Holiday validity period would be June 2006 to December 15, 2006. The targeted turnover from this offer is Rs 100 crore.
The holiday destinations under the offer include Goa, Ooty, Nainital, Agra, Dalhousie, Mussoorie, Shimla, Manali, Matheran, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kodaikanal, Darjeeling and Mahabaleshwar etc.
Talking about the company’s expansion plans Mathew said that Next would make entry into Bhopal, Jabalpur, Ratlam and all the B-level towns of Madhya Pradesh in coming quarter of the year. The expansion would be done by ruote of franchisee and retail outlets, he added.
Mathew stated that Next retail outlets have been a big success. Retail is all about the right location and customer service according to him. With 150 odd outlets at present the company would cross the mark of 450 by the end of this financial year.
Currently occupying an area of 2.6 lakh square feet, the company is toying with the idea of entry into mobile segment. The expected turnover of the company is Rs 700 crore for this financial year.
