NHRC: Damodar Sarangi is new Director General

Sarangi succeeds D Mukherjee, who has been posted as DGP Tamil Nadu.

Damodar Sarangi has assumed charge as Director General (Investigation) in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

A 1972 batch IPS officer of West Bengal Cadre, Sarangi was additional Director General (East) BSF, Kolkata, prior to his present posting, said NHRC in a statement in New Delhi on Friday.

Sarangi succeeds D Mukherjee, who has been posted as DGP Tamil Nadu, the release said.
