Nikita dons chef's hat
Former Miss India Nikita Anand is fond of cooking and loves cooking anything that is quick and doesn?t require much effort.
Before former Miss India Nikita Anand shifts base to Mumbai to try her luck in Bollywood, she donned the chef’s hat and apron on Saturday night to rustle up a spicy meal for close friends at R.E.D, the happening Oriental restaurant at Radisson MBD Hotel, Noida.

“I will cook mixed vegetables in oyster sauce as I think that’s what all my friends will like. At least I believe so,” said Anand with a laugh as she worked on a special induction table meant to encourage cooking among guests. “No Italian or Japanese for me please,” said Anand who sticks to desi khaana which is sumptuous and wholesome. Anand, who is quite fond of cooking, loves to prepare anything that is quick and doesn’t require too much effort. “I have strong dislikes in food and the things I shun are pizzas, chicken in white sauce and pasta,” said Anand.
Besides Indian food, she likes Chinese cuisine as well. “I love mixed vegetables with boiled rice. In fact, most Chinese dishes that are not deep-fried, work well for me.”
Anand, who recently signed Ravi Kumar’s Yeh Dil Dhadkta Hai is all revved up about her role as an innocent college girl in this love triangle that will mostly
have newcomers like Kiran Jhangiani. “I have taken my time to choose this role. The one thing that I am particularly careful about is selecting a role that doesn’t require exposure in any form,” said Anand who will be staying in an apartment in Lokhandwala with her mother.
Interestingly Anand understands that modelling has a small shelf life and if one has to stay in the limelight, then movies are the way to go. “Now if one has to be seen here, there and everywhere, I would suggest them to join Bollywood. After all what other options are models left with?” asks Anand who dreams of working with Shah Rukh Khan one day.
