Nirupam initiates Juhu cleaning drive

Sanjay Nirupam on Sunday initiated a clean-up drive of Juhu beach following the Chhat puja celebrations, reports Madhurima Nandy.

Senior Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam on Sunday initiated a clean-up drive of Juhu beach following the Chhat puja celebrations.

Nirupam said every year he organises Chhat puja celebrations on the beach and a clean-up drive the next day.

Nirupam personally monitored the cleaning of the beach and the garbage collected in 600 bio-degradable bags were carried away in four municipal corporation vans to the dumping grounds.

This year, Juhu Citizens Welfare Group had complained about Nirupam's Chhat celebrations on the beach particularly because the entire stretch has now been cleaned and cleared of the food stalls.
