NLC workers strike: MPs delegation likely to meet PM

An MPs delegation planned to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to apprise him of the plight of the about 13,000 contract workers of Neyveli Lignite Corporation, whose indefinite strike to press their 10-point charter, including equal pay for equal work, entered the 32nd day today.

The delegation of MPs from the state would call on the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and also Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal in Delhi, CPI District Secretary P Sekar told reporters in Cuddalore.

He claimed that about 10,000 posts of industrial workmen grade were lying vacant in the NLC.
