No bail for top cop Suryavanshi
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the alleged fake encounter case of alleged Chotta Rajan aide Ram Narayan Gupta alias Lakkhan Bhaiiya, on Tuesday, filed a supplementary chargesheet in the case.

Dismissed encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma is the key accused in the case. “The supplementary chargesheet consists of statements of about 25 witnesses,” said advocate Laxman Kanal.
The court also rejected the bail application of Pradeep Suryawanshi, who allegedly led the team of police officers on the encounter day. Suryawanshi had filed a bail application saying that he needed immediate medical treatment.
Lakkhan Bhaiya was killed in an alleged fake encounter on November 11, 2006 in Nana Nani Park at Versova. However, his brother, on November 15, 2006, moved a petition in the high court alleging that the police murdered his brother.
The high court, in February 2008, ordered a magisterial inquiry into the alleged encounter and in August 2009 the magistrate submitted the report to the court saying that Lakkhan Bhaiiya was murdered.
