Chairman and CEO Balwindar Kumar has said the authority cannot not increase the compensation already paid to farmers in lieu of their land acquired.

“If the authority hikes compensation paid to one village, other villages will make the same demands,” he said at village Shahdra in sector 41. The Noida CEO, however, said he had forwarded the demand to the state government. “If the government agrees to hike the rate with retrospective effective, we will implement the same.” The Noida authority has already promised developed land plots to farmers agitating in several sectors of the city. The CEO also went to Wajidpur village in sector 135. Villagers complained the authority was terming abadi land as encroachment. The CEO said such allegations would be withdrawn.
Farmers, however, were relentless. “We want written assurances,” they said.
