CITIZENS IN most parts of the State, including the capital continued feeling the biting cold during daytime, as the day temperature remained quite low under the effect of clouding resulting from moisture incursion over the State. The high velocity wind that kept blowing over the capital through the day kept the citizens shivering, particularly during early morning and early evening hours.

The maximum day temperature was recorded five degrees below normal for the second day in succession in the capital. Today, the maximum temperature was recorded at 21.4 degrees. The minimum temperature also plunged and was recorded at 8.8 degrees.

The moisture incursion is owing to a trough extending from Arabian Sea to the State. However, during next 24 hours, the humidity in the atmosphere would decrease and the night temperature is expected to drop further. The snowfall in northern parts of the country is keeping temperature in the State quite low.

The lowest minimum temperature for the day was recorded at Khajuraho and Sheopur Kalan at 5.0 degrees. Indore recorded maximum of 24.3 and minimum of 8.7, Gwalior – 20.7 and 6.4 and Jabalpur – 21.4 and 7.8.
