Department of Telecom said on Friday that there is no move to replace Chairman of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd AK Sinha.

Reacting to media reports, an official spokesperson said "There is no move of either removal or replacement of CMD, BSNL. The story is totally baseless".

The report stated that Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran was displeased with the poor quality of telecom services offered by BSNL and its inability to arrest the exit of customers.

It said the minister was particularly upset over 'slow roll-out of broadband' in the country.
