"We have not heard anything officially on this," a spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry said in reply to a question.

Reports in New Delhi said Pakistan had asked India for exchange of Arif with Sarabjit.

Sarabjit is presently lodged in a Pakistan jail, facing death sentence for allegedly being involved in bomb explosions in that country.

Arif was arrested after he was found to be involved in the terrorist attack on Red Fort on December 22, 2000.
