Talking to reporters here, Rao said exit polls have no scientific base. "A candidate has to observe various restrictions under People's Representation Act, but agencies doing survey and exit polls did not have to adhere to any kind of control under the Act," he said.

"My personal opinion was that a legislation should be there to control it and I will convey this to party leaders," he said.

Stating that exit poll observations have not triggered any panic in the party, Rao said this time NDA approached voters with its achievements.

Terming CPI-M as an opportunistic party, Rao pooh-poohed CPI-M General Secretary, Harkishan Singh Surjeet's statement that left parties would play a major role in Government formation after the polls.

Rao said in Andhra Pradesh, TDP-BJP combine would return to power.
