Noida trader caught in ‘fainting’ trap, robbed of Rs 3 lakh

Snatchers played a unique trick on a trader before fleeing with his bag containing Rs 3 lakh cash in Sector 9, police said on Tuesday.

The complainant, Subhash Agarwal, said the incident took place on Sunday night when he was about to leave for home after closing his tiles shop.

“As I was about to leave, I noticed that my car had a flat tyre. I kept my bag inside the vehicle and started replacing it with a spare. Suddenly, a man came and fainted on the road. As I went to a nearby shop to bring water in order to help him, one of his accomplices took my bag and both of them ran away,” Agarwal said in his complaint lodged at Sector 20 police station.

“It seems the assailants had planned the snatching. They had first punctured the car tyre and then distracted him. On finding the right moment, they fled with the bag. We suspect that one of his employees was involved in the case,” said Vir Vikram Singh, SHO, Sector 20 police station.
