In a joint statement on Thursday, North Delhi mayor Azad Singh, chairman of the standing committee Ram Kishan Singhal and leader of the House Mahinder Nagpal said the Delhi government has only wasted people's hard-earned money in the name of improving newly-constructed roads by the corporation.

Meanwhile, the three corporators lashed out at chief minister Sheila Dixit. According to them, the chief minister had alleged the corporation's inefficiency over the maintenance of roads in a few newspapers.

"The statements of the chief minister are misleading as she is trying to suppress all three BJP-ruled corporations to hide her government's inefficiency. Despite regular correspondence for the past three months, the Delhi government has not given the corporation its due amount for the year 2013-14 for development work such as enhancement of unauthorised colonies, development of school buildings, prevention of dengue, malaria, etc., services in JJ colonies and so on. They are weakening us. They should be thinking of public interest rather than these political games," said Mahender Nagpal.
