Secretary of State for Northhern Ireland Peter Hain, who will lead the high-level trade delegation to India from April 4 told reporters in London on Thursday night that he would meet some of the producers in Mumbai and invite them for location shootings in Northern Ireland.

Stating that there was enormous scope for joint ventures in hi-tech industries in Northern Ireland, Hain said some Indian companies including HCL Technologies Ltd have already identified Northern Ireland as a cost-effective platform for growth in Europe.

"Our companies are increasingly seizing opportunities in India through alliances that will strengthen their international competitiveness," he said.

The Secretary of the State, who had earlier visited India as foreign minister in 1999 and 2000, said he would explore opportunities in trade and investment between the two countries during his 10-day visit to India.

"There is great opportunity for increasing trade and investment both ways," Hain said.
