THE BARRA police have discovered a novel way to hush up incidents of loot in their area. When the victim presses SHO RP Tewari to lodge an FIR of the loot, he threatens to commit suicide or resign from the police department.

On Tuesday night, Atma Prakash Samnani was robbed of Rs 3 lakh in Barra when he was returning home.Strangely, no FIR was lodged in this regard till date.

Moreover, another loot took place in Barra in the wee hours on Saturday. This time again two motor-cycle borne miscreants looted a digital camera, two mobile handsets and Rs 2000 cash at gun point from Om Narayan Yadav, a resident of Bidhnoo, who was going to a marriage in Barra.

When the victim reached the Barra police station on Saturday morning, SHO RP Tewari refused to lodge an FIR and reportedly told the victim that he would recover his valuables if he did not lodge any complaint. At the same time, Atma Prakash Samnani was also present in the police station with his application of loot of Rs 3 lakh.

According to sources, SHO RP Tewari came down on his knees and pleaded to the two not to compel him to lodge FIRs. When the two victims remained unperturbed, the SHO Barra tried to intimidate the victims by threatening that he would commit suicide if they remain adamant on their stand. When the matter was brought to the notice of SSP PC Meena he said he would talk to the SHO and if he found the allegations true, then action would be taken against the SHO..
