A machine that washes, dries and irons up to 16 items of clothes could put an end to the washday blues.
Plymouth University student Oliver Blackwell's drum-less machine, which can also tackle sheets, holds items on hangers before washing and blowing hot air on them.
The 23-year-old's WashDryIron machine took him a year to make for his final product design degree project. Clothes are washed on hangers and then dried and ironed by having hot air blown over them.
He said more development was necessary and he would need steam to perfect the ironing process. The washing machine is being shown at the Ideal Home Show in London next month.
"There's been a huge amount of interest shown in my design, but what I really need next is for a major manufacturer to get involved with some investment to develop it further," BBC news quoted him as saying.
