NRI Sikhs demand action against holyman

An action has been demanded against Baba Daljit Singh Chicago Wale for his alleged action not befitting a religious preacher.

A delegation of Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Sikhs on Friday asked the Jathedar of Akal Takht at Amritsar to take action against Baba Daljit Singh Chicago Wale for his alleged action not befitting a religious preacher.

The delegtion of the NRI Sikhs, led by Kulwant Singh Hundal, Religious Secretary of the Sikh Religious Society of Palatine (USA) at a press conference here said though the Baba has promoted himself as a religious preacher, but his "questionable deeds" has brought a bad name to the community.

The delegation said the Jathedar of the Akal Takht and the five Sikh Head priests should immediately take action against the Baba, who was allegedly found in the company of a woman at a motel in Wauconda.

The Jathedar and the five Sikh priests should excommunicate the Baba and sell off his properties at various places and use the proceeds for the welfare of the 1984 riot victims.

The delegation members said they had come from the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, Austria and other countries.
