The NSG team held meetings with officials of Airport Authority of India (AAI) and Central Industrial Security
Force (CISF),the agency in-charge of security at the airport, they said.

According to sources, the NSG team wanted to get familiar with the locations so as to cut short the response
time in the event of a terror attack or an attempt to hijack plane.

Sources further said NSG team also visited some of the vital installations in the city like Indian Space Research
Organisation (ISRO) and Physical Research Laboratory.

NSG's response time during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks -- while moving from national capital to the western metropolis
-- came under criticism after which the government finalised a number of plans like creation of few hubs for deploying the specially trained men in minimum possible time.

Ahmedabad figures amongst the sensitive locations in the country with regard to terror threats to its vital
installations like Indian Space Research Organisation and Physical Research Laboratory.
