Abhijat was holding a meeting with the two city health officers and other officials concerned at his NN office on Friday. He warned the officials that if water-logging in areas like Allahpur occurs owing to non-cleaning of drains the city health officials and those officials responsible for drain cleaning would be dealt with sternly.
Earlier on the direction of the administrator the municipal commissioner, Gaya Prasad, today sent nine senior officials to inspect the drain cleaning work in various areas. On return the officials submitted their report which made the administrator disgusted.
The assistant municipal commissioner KD Singh informed the administrator that he had inspected five drains and found that cleaning work had not started in any of them till date.
The administrator gave a stern warning to Nagar Swasthya Adhikari to get the road from Luxmi Talkies crossing to Mazar crossing cleaned immediately and the garbage removed.
He also directed the park incharge Dr Shrish Chandra to present the park policy before him within three days. He said that before formulating the park policy the environmental experts and voluntary organisations working in this field should also be consulted and their suggestions sought.
