He also expressed dissatisfaction over the way the last polio drive was conducted under Handia, Jasra, Ramnagar and Phulpur primary health centres.
The Chief Secretary was addressing a meeting through video conferencing on Monday to review the State’s preparations for the forthcoming pulse polio drive.
Ramni said the polio drive was not conducted according to the set standards in the urban areas of Allahabad.
So this time the district health department needed to be very careful, he said.
“The Chief Secretary also warned of strict action in case any irregularity was detected in the polio drive starting from April 9,” said CMO Allahabad Dr Shantimal Singhavi.
Dr Singhavi said the Chief Secretary was dissatisfied with the way the polio drive was conducted under Handia, Phulpur, Jasra and Ramnagar primary health centres. The necessary directions had been issued to the officers concerned in this regard, he added.
Patients examined
A TEAM of doctors from Delhi, led by Dr Devraj, conducted check-up of about 211 patients at Tej Bahadur Sapru (Beli) Hospital on Monday. All these patients were recently operated upon at the three-day mega polio corrective surgery camp at the Beli Hospital.
The doctors’ team referred a few patients for rehabilitation and physiotherapy, while others were again called on April 18 and May 5 for further examination.It may be recalled that the mega polio corrective surgery camp was jointly organised by the Handicap Welfare Department and the district administration at Beli Hospital from March 23 to 25.
A team of 16 doctors led by Dr Girish Gupta and Dr Arun Jain of Pt Din Dayal Upadhyay Viklang Jan Sansthan performed polio corrective surgery on 211 patients.
During the three-day camp, as many as 2,000 people from trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna registered themselves.
About 900 children and youths of Gangapaar and city side were also registered in the camp .
