Ojaswani Singh, who is just seven-and-a-half-year-old, created a record of sorts at the AITA junior tennis championship by becoming the youngest player to win a match and also advance to the pre-quarterfinal in the under-14 category.

Ojaswani, a student of Daly College, defeated Nishta Khaitan in three marathon sets. Nishta Khaitan dominated the first set. She played superbly and never allowed Ojaswani to win a game.

She won the set comfortably by 6-0. After trailing 0-1, Ojaswani came back strongly to win the remaining two sets 6-3 and 7-5 to sail into the pre-quarterfinal. Incidentally, Ojaswani is also the youngest player in the tournament.
