Old man ends life, blames inflation for it

A suicide note recovered by the police says that the victim has held steep rise in prices as the reason behind this extreme step and held the government responsible for it.

Fed up with rising prices, a 60-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence here, police said today.

The incident took place last night at Savarkar Nagar when Bhimrao Bansode decided to end his life, they said.

A suicide note recovered by the police says that the victim has held steep rise in prices as the reason behind this extreme step and held the government responsible for it.

Bansode, who retired from Voltas company here was staying with his son Sachin, who works in a mall here.

When his son returned home yesterday at around 8PM, and found the door to locked from inside despite repeated knocks, it was broke open, only to find his father hanging.

The local police has sent the body for postmortem to the civil hospital and a case of accidental death has been registered, police said.
