Venting his frustration on the micro-blogging site Twitter, Omar wrote on Saturday: “It’s irritating when we roll out the red carpet and facilitate the shoot only to have people believe its Manali Artistic Licence #YJHD.”
The film, produced by Karan Johar, was the first to shoot in the Valley in 2013 and Omar visited Gulmarg in the dead of winter to host a dinner for the film crew.
“Those of you planning to visit Manali because of what you saw in YJHD should know except for the Temple and Span resort, it’s all Gulmarg,” the CM wrote.
In order to attract film productions, the state extends all support including providing high-level security to the film crews and cast.
Speaking to HT on the tweets, Omar said: “I am not hurt or upset. Neither am I being irrational… just trying to protect the interest of my state.”
