Omar pays homage to martyrs of Karbala
Paying rich homage to the martyrs of Karbala on the eve of Ashura Muharram, Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah has said that Imam Hussain (AS) symbolises the firm faith in almighty, high principles of righteousness, purity of thought and highest degree of sacrifice to uphold truth and human dignity.

Paying rich homage to the martyrs of Karbala on the eve of Ashura Muharram, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that Imam Hussain (AS) symbolises the firm faith in almighty, high principles of righteousness, purity of thought and highest degree of sacrifice to uphold truth and human dignity.
Omar said Imam Hussain and his companions exhibited unparalleled courage and patience and made historic sacrifices at Karbala which would enlighten and guide the mankind forever.
"Karbala teaches us the lesson of upholding the principles of righteousness under all circumstances and denying evil forces to make us succumb or bow before them," Omar added.
The chief minister prayed for the peace and well being of the state and its people.
