“The NC is a part of the UPA government and it will vote for Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates to be fielded by the UPA coalition,” said Omar in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

On New Delhi’s decision to supply 500 MW electricity to Pakistan, Omar, while welcoming this step, said, “Better Indo-Pak relations is the cherished desire of the people.”

The chief minister said his government would facilitate and contribute positively in all measures aimed at bringing thaw in the ties between the two neighbours and resolving issues amicably and in a peaceful atmosphere.
