Omar threatens to quit as MP

National Conference president Omar Abdullah has threatened to resign from Parliament if “excesses against Kashmiri people are not stopped”, reports Rashid Ahmad.

Upset by “unbridled use of force against Kashmiri agitators in the past several days”, he said if police and security forces could maintain restrain in Jammu “why not here”.

“If use of forces is not stopped I will resign from Parliament,” he said, adding: “It is between me and my conscience. I will decide date and time (for resignation) by myself.”
