A man was shot dead and twelve people were injured in a post-election clash between two groups at Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, police said.

Elections for the Gram Pradhan seat, which is reserved for women in Hurnangli village, were held among three candidates on October 14.
The supporters of one of the candidates yesterday went to a house of a voter after learning that he had not voted in his favour. The supporters of another candidate also reached the spot and in the ensuing clash, one person was shot dead and a dozen, including a woman, were injured.
Police have arrested two brothers of one of the candidate in this regard.
A case has been lodged against seven persons after the victim's brother filed an FIR.
