The city traffic police have taken a slew of measures to ensure smooth vehicular movement on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.

In order to clear bottlenecks, the police will put up signages on the internal lanes of Udyog Vihar to guide motorists about the one-way stretch parallel to the expressway. Besides, major intersections such as Signature Tower Crossing and Shankar Chowk connected to the expressway will be manned by trained marshals.

In the absence of any signages, a lot of motorists unintentionally drive on the wrong side violating the one-way traffic rule between Indiabulls building and Trident Hotel along the Udyog Vihar internal lane and end up paying fines.

DCP (traffic) Bharti Arora has asked officers to put up at least 10 signages at Shankar Chowk.

Heavy vehicles, especially those transporting cars to and fro Maruti Suzuki’s Gurgaon plant, will be allowed to cross through the Signature Tower Crossing only between 11pm and 8am, she said.

The measures came after the DCP along with Huda administrator Praveen Kumar visited the trouble spots.
