"In view of annual Darbar move from Srinagar to Jammu, the traffic will ply one-way on the 300-km national highway connecting Kashmir with rest of the country on October 31 and November 1," a spokesman of the traffic department said here.
The civil secretariat, the seat of Jammu and Kashmir government, and other offices will close in Srinagar on October 30-31 and reopen in Jammu on November 9, as part of the bi-annual Darbar move.
The age-old practice of 'Darbar Move' introduced by the Dogra rulers involves a whopping expenditure running into crores of rupees. As per the arrangement, the state government functions for six months each in Srinagar during summer and Jammu during winter.
The traffic spokesman appealed to the general public to cooperate with the department for smooth passage of the Darbar move.
