One woman killed near Rajpura
One woman was hacked to death in her own house in broad daylight in Kharajpur village near Rajpura in this district.
The body was discovered by her six-year-old son Mandeep Singh and Sandeep Singh (4), who had returned from the school in the afternoon.
Both the boys immediately ran to their grandfather Baldev Singh, who had gone to visit one of his friends in the village.
Baldev Singh came back to his house and raised an alarm following which the local police was informed about the murder.
Manjit Kaur, who was married to Mitha Singh, was found murdered in the main hall of her house.
As per preliminary investigations carried out by the police it was discovered that Manjit Kaur was cooking food at the
time she was attacked.
The assailant reportedly slashed her throat and she is believed to have died due to excessive bleeding.
However, the police could not ascertain whether Manjit Kaur was attacked by one or more than one person.
Police spoke to a number of villagers seeking clues to solve the case.
