Over Rs 22 cr stamp duty collected in Indore district
INDORE DISTRICT collected largest amount of Rs 22.66 crore as revenue from stamp duty and registration duty in May of this fiscal, which was double as compared to that of the corresponding period last year. A revenue of Rs 11.34 crore was collected during May of last year by the respective departments.

District Registrar N S Tomar said that State Government has set a target to generate revenue worth Rs 300 crore from stamp duty and registration duty and special efforts are being put to achieve the target. Total revenue of Rs 33.25 crore has been generated till this month in the district, which is 68 per cent, more than that was collected during the corresponding period in last financial year.
Thus Registration Department has generated Rs 19.77 crore more as compared to last year. A concession of Rs 2 crore has been given to the registration done by women and concession in stamp duty was also given to the women.
Tomar said that strict inspection of registered site done by officials is one of the major reasons for of increase in revenue generated by departments.
