Oscar winning actor Al Pacino has admitted that he had a fierce rivalry with Robert DeNiro in their earlier days.

The two had starred together in Godfather II in 1974 though they never shared any screen time together. DeNiro had gone on to win an Oscar for his performance, while Pacino lost out.

"There's no rivalry now but there was when we were younger," Pacino was quoted as saying by thesun.co.uk.

The two were together in London for the premiere of their movie Righteous Kill along with co-star rapper 50 Cent. DeNiro joked saying they had trouble deciding whose name should be first on the bill and concluded: "I was first on the project. So it was me."
