Painting contest marks oil, gas conservation fortnight

A PAINTING competition for school students and cultural programmes marked the oil and gas conservation fortnight celebrations at the Regional Science Centre on Monday. The programme was organized by the Petroleum Conservation and Research Association (PCRA) with support of the public sector petroleum companies.

A PAINTING competition for school students and cultural programmes marked the oil and gas conservation fortnight celebrations at the Regional Science Centre on Monday. The programme was organized by the Petroleum Conservation and Research Association (PCRA) with support of the public sector petroleum companies.

About 500 students from 20 schools participated in the painting competition held in three age groups. In the senior group Pallavi Visave of Kamla Nehru School won the first prize, Deepali Visave of the Saraswati HS School, Kotra, the second prize and Megha Nema of Carmel Convent, BHEL third prize.

In the middle school group Nabila Khan of Carmel Convent bagged first prize, Navneet Kaur of Scholar’s Home School second and Anmol Mirchandani of Navnish Girls School third. In the primary group, Jitesh Daswani of Mithi Gobindram Public School got first prize, Monica Soni of Navinidh School second and Disha Chaturvedi of All Saints School third prize.

The prizes were given away by chief guest P S Venkateshan, General Manager of IOC. Project coordinator of RSC Prabal Roy, joint director of Petroleum Conservation and Research Association (PCRA) and others were present.
