Pak appoints new high commissioner to Lanka

Pakistan has appointed Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Shehzad Chaudhry to succeed its High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Bashir Wali Mohmand.

Pakistan has appointed Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Shehzad Chaudhry to succeed its High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Bashir Wali Mohmand, who escaped a Claymore mine attack in Colombo on Monday, a media report said on Thursday.

Chaudhry would replace Muhammad, whose service contract as high commissioner has ended, Dawn quoted officials as saying.

Muhammad, a retired Intelligence Bureau Chief, was already scheduled to travel back to Pakistan by the beginning of next week, it said.
