Pakistan mulls signing pact against N-terrorism

The pact requires nations to make terror acts, involving the nuclear use, a serious offence under their domestic laws.

Taking a cue from India, Pakistan has said it would sign the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, but says it would do so "in due course".

India has already signed the convention at a brief ceremony at the UN.

Highly placed diplomatic sources told The News that Pakistan was examining the convention and it would sign the document, "but the timing for the same would be determined in due course.

"Pakistan is not averse to this first anti-terrorism convention since it was supported by Pakistan in the world body when adopted there," the sources added.
