Pakistan's Ajoka theatre to stage play for peace at SAARC

Pakistan's Ajoka theatre group will present the play 'Bullah' for SAARC delegates that tells the story of the 18th century Sufi poet, who advocated peace, love, friendship and harmony among religions and sects.

Pakistan's well known Ajoka theatre group will present the play 'Bullah' for SAARC leaders and delegates next week.

The play tells the story of the 18th century Sufi poet, Baba Bulleh Shah, and highlights his philosophy.

Bulleh Shah (1680-1758) lived in Kasur during the last days of the Mughal Empire. He was a strong advocate of peace, love, friendship and harmony among religions and sects.

According to the Daily Times, Ajoka has performed in several cities in South Asia, including Delhi and Dhaka.

Written and directed by Shahid Nadeem and Madeeha Gauhar, the play has been choreographed by Uzra Butt.

Madeeha Gohar established the theater group in 1983. And Sarfraz Ansari plays the part of Bulleh Shah.
