Pakistani Taliban claim Peshawar attack

The Pakistani Taliban on Wednesday claimed responsibility for a suicide attack at a police station in Peshawar that killed two people, saying it was to avenge Osama bin Laden's death.

The Pakistani Taliban on Wednesday claimed responsibility for a suicide attack at a police station in Peshawar that killed two people, saying it was to avenge Osama bin Laden's death.

"We claim responsibility for the attack in Peshawar," Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told AFP by telephone from an undisclosed location.

"We will further step up these attacks to avenge Osama bin Laden's martyrdom," he said.

Ehsan added, "These attacks will continue until the US drone strikes and ongoing Pakistani military operations are stopped in the tribal regions."
