Pantaloon Retail Ltd on Tuesday posted a 46.70 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 15.83 crore for the quarter ended June 30 as compared to Rs 10.79 crore in year ago period.
Total income of the company increased 55.23 per cent to Rs 578.12 crore for the fourth quarter ended June 30 as against Rs 372.42 crore in the same period last fiscal, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The board of directors have recommended a dividend of Rs 2.50 per equity share, subject to shareholders approval.
In the quarter, the company opened five Big Bazzar stores, two Food Bazaars, three Pantaloon stores and two Fashion Stations in various cities in the country, it said.
Earnings per shares of the company stood at Rs 5.89 for the fourth quarter of 2005-06 as against Rs 4.95 in the year ago period.
The company reported a 66.40 per cent rise in the net profit at Rs 64.15 crore for the year ended June 30 as against Rs 38.55 crore in the last fiscal.
Total income for the year stood at Rs 1,871.97 crore as compared to Rs 1,088.28 crore in 2004-05.
