?Parivar Puraskar? for poet Kailash

KAILASH GAUTAM, poet and lyricist, has been chosen for the coveted ?Parivar Puraskar? this year. This award is given for special contribution in the field of Hindi poetry. Ramswaroop Gadia, founder president of Parivar Sanstha said this while addressing a Press meet held recently.

KAILASH GAUTAM, poet and lyricist, has been chosen for the coveted ‘Parivar Puraskar’ this year. This award is given for special contribution in the field of Hindi poetry. Ramswaroop Gadia, founder president of Parivar Sanstha said this while addressing a Press meet held recently.

Gautam will receive the award on May 27 at Birla Matushri Sabhagar. The prize amount is Rs 51,000. According to Nandkishor Nautiyal, executive president, Kailash Gautam has been chosen for the award for his tremendous contribution in geet, navgeet and folk literature. “Gautam is very simple and original in his expressions when he tries to expose the hidden truths of the society,” he added.

Gautam was born on January 8, 1944 in Chandauli, Varanasi. Nine books of the famous litterateur have already been published and he has been conferred with Rahul Sanskritayan Samman, Sumitra Nandan Pant Samman and Nirala Samman. His poetry for children has gained special recognition and he has already worked for 37 years with AIR. Presently he is chairman of Hindustani Akademi.

Others who have received Parivar Puraskar are Bharat Bhushan, Harish Bhadani, Late Sharad Joshi, Late Ramanath Awasthi, Late Nagarjun, Suryabhanu Gupt, Gopladas ‘Neeraj’, Late Pradeep, Kanhaiyya Lal Nandan, Vishwanath Sachdev, Late Dr Rammanohar Tripathi, Som Thakur, Maheshwar Tiwari, Naeem, and Dr Kunwar Baichain.
