Apprehending his arrest in the cash-on-camera scam involving former Union Minister Dilip Singh Judeo, the man, who allegedly arranged a mobile phone for accused Bhupender Singh Patel alias "Rahul" has approached the Delhi High Court for anticipatory bail.

Justice OP Dwivedi posted the hearing on Parvesh Kumar Chugh's anticipatory bail plea for February 4 after his counsel failed to appear in the court to argue the case.

Earlier, a Vacation Bench of the court had sent it to the Regular Bench on the ground that there was no urgency in the matter.

Chugh, who had allegedly arranged a mobile phone for Bhupender Singh Patel alias Rahul, submitted that he had already been interrogated thrice by the CBI and the agency might arrest him as he had been served with another notice to appear before it.

In his anticipatory bail petition filed through counsel Deepak Masih, Chugh alleged that some changes had also been effected in his statement recorded by CBI.

According to the petition, Chugh had requested his friend Rohit Chaudhary to give his mobile phone for temporary use to Rahul who was working with Akash channel owned by Amit Jogi, son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi.

CBI alleged the phone arranged by Chugh was used in calling Judeo who allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 9 lakh.

Accepting that he was known to Rahul for the last five years, Chugh said he had narrated the entire fact known to him but the agency asked him to appear before it on December 30 which he could not do due to his ill health.

CBI has filed a case against Judeo, his personal secretary Natwar Rateria, Rahul and Arvind Vijay Mohan, an art dealer, and some "unknown persons" in connection with the cash-on-camera scam.
