Pathan joins elite club
Left-arm paceman Irfan Pathan on Thursday joined a select list of 10 Indian bowlers to have taken 100 or more wickets in one-dayers.
Pathan reached the milestone in his 59th match when he trapped Pakistan opener Imran Farhat leg before during the second and final cricket one-dayer against Pakistan.
Pathan has taken these wickets at an average of 24.56 and an economy rate of 4.92. He has taken one five-wicket haul and his best figures are 5/27 taken against Zimbabwe in 2005.
The match also saw Rahul Dravid fall in the nervous 90s for the third time in his 287-match ODI career. Incidentally all of these dismissals have come against Pakistan.
Dravid was bowled by Saqlain Mushtaq on 90 in 1996 during the second match of the 1996-97 series against Pakistan.
The Indian skipper also had the heartbreak of losing his wicket when just one short of century, being clean bowled by Pakistani pace express Shoaib Akhtar for 99 in the 2004-05 series.
