The decision was taken at an emergency meeting, attended by around 50 pilots, held at the Delhi airport on Friday. “Four months salary is pending,” said a source.

“We have asked the management to pay our January salaries by May 8 and February salary by month end. Else, we will have no option but to strike work from May 9.” KFA paid salaries for December last month after a similar threat from pilots, which forced an intervention from chairman Vijay Mallya.

KFA did not respond to an email from HT.

“The last time they had said their bank accounts are frozen. This time they have no such problem but still salaries are not being disbursed,” a source said.

Meanwhile, agency reports said that two developers had slapped an eviction notice on KFA for allegedly defaulting on rent payments since last November.
