“We agreed on Central assistance for developing the areas of eastern Assam now being targeted by Maoist elements,” said Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi after a meeting with Chidambaram here.
The home minister had stopped over while returning to New Delhi from Manipur. “We also sought speedier talks with tribal militant outfits such as National Democratic Front of Boroland,” Gogoi said.
