THE SITUATION was limping back to normal on the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth campus on Thursday after two days of violence.

The varsity administration beefed up security on the campus. No untoward incident was reported.
Earlier, on Wednesday night, an undergraduate student sustained serious injuries in violence. The injured BA second year student, Ambuj Rai, was admitted to a private hospital.Ambuj was returning to his hostel around 9 pm when a group of four youths intercepted him and beat him up. One of the assailants hit him on the head with a brick.
Police patrolling was intensified after the incident.
Two groups of students clashed on the campus on Tuesday. Nearly, half-a-dozen students sustained minor injuries in the incident.
