In its annual meeting, the council expressed displeasure over the insensitive attitude of the officials in clearance of GPF pension and gratuity of of retired employees who were forced to run from Varanasi to Lucknow for clearance of their dues.
Expressing his views on this occasion, chief guest and general manager of the Power Corporation, BJ Singh, recalled the services of retired electricity employees and said that thousands of villages had been electrified because of the service rendered by them and their dedication.
State president of the council, JML Vaishya, said around 1500 pensioners were waiting for the clearance of their GPF but the State government had paid no attention to their grievances. He said the Electricity Pensioners’ Council would mount pressure on the government on this issue.
Meanwhile, YN Srivastav was elected the new district president of the council.
