The shortlist for the £25,000 art prize was announced on Tuesday. The contending works will be exhibited in the Tate Britain Museum from October with the winner to be announced on December 4.

The judges, whose choices for the Turner Prize often provoke howls of rage from the wider art world, remained true to controversial form this year.
